I realized that I registered for my fifth marathon last week after chatting with Connie on Twitter. I never expected to be running marathons after my first one two years ago. The bug bit me. Now train to go beyond just simply finishing the race. I’m training to run better.

Thursday, September 11th, 2008Buy Good Karma! I’m raising money for Children’s Memorial Hospital as a charity runner in the Chicago Marathon. I’m trying to raise $1000.000 for Chicagoland’s sickest children. Please support the team and join in our belief that quality pediatric care is a necessity for all children. I hope that you can make a tax deductible contribution to this organization by clicking the three running kids on my website or go to https://secure.
Chicago Distance Classic Results
Monday, August 11th, 2008I survived the Chicago Distance Classic half marathon. I finished it in 2 hours, 26 minutes, and 51 seconds. My body is super sore and I’ll be resting and stretching for most of the day. I continue training for the marathon tomorrow. I’ll post a followup with much more detail next week. Peace!
Chicago Distance Classic Goals
Monday, August 4th, 2008I have to bend like a reed in the wind so I don't break and stop moving forward. I injured myself in May and haven't fully recovered. I haven't been consistent with my running because I don't want to re-injure myself. To protect myself, I will be treating the Chicago Distance Classic as a really long and slow day. My goal is to start and finish the race.
Chicago Marathon Training, Disney Moments
Wednesday, June 11th, 2008My afternoon run last Wednesday felt like a Disney movie. I thought Giselle, Belle, or Snow White will show up in running shorts and run besides me. (That would be HOT!) A couple of deer watched me waddle through the forest. Birds were singing and dancing around me while I trained. Some of them followed.

I’m spending the next two weeks decluttering and simplifying my life. The clutter is driving me mad! My mom had decided to clean out her garage. The items letting go of is being sold (on Craig’s List and eBay), donated (to Goodwill and the Salvaton Army), or recycled (Nike Re-Use a Shoe). Ten percent (10%) of any money I make off these items will be going to the American Cancer Society and The Children’s Memorial Marathon Team. Here’s the first batch of items I’ve put on Craig’s List.
