A Perfect Sunday

A perfect Sunday capped off a great week.  Relatively cool weather squashed the hot and humid weather we’ve had in Chicago.  I rode my bike up to the Chicago Botanic Gardens.  The North Branch Trail wasn’t congested in either direction.   I strolled around gaining ideas and insights.  I walked through the swaying grass and blossom.  The sun shined on me.  The cool breeze cooled my hot and sweaty arms.  After an hour at the gardens, i returned home.  I studied for my math and spanish class.  It was a relaxing and rewarding Sunday.

I had a good week.  My running schedule was a bit off but I was able to get all my days in.  I felt slower last week because of the hot and humid air during my late morning runs.  This week, I want to run at 5:00am in the morning.  It’s cooler.  I don’t have to worry about getting sunburn.  The air is better for breathing, lower levels of pollution.

Good things have been slowly coming into my life.  A classmate of mine gave me $5.00 to replace a pen I loaned to her.  I insisted she keep it but she insisted that she promised to return the pen.  I’ll give it back to her and ask her to donate it to the charity I’m running for.  My dad came into my bedroom to hand me a check.  I helped him replace the window switch on his car.  It’s his way of saying thank you.  Again, I didn’t want the money.  I was more satisfied with him saying thank you but if I didn’t take it, I fear I would hurt his feelings.  I’ll be using that money to pay off a personal debt I have and give a portion of it to charity also.  I received a gift from my brother.  He wanted to thank me for riding with him and driving him when his car was in the shop.  Pretty awesome.

This It all started with a five dollar bill I found on the street.  While riding down a side street, I saw a five dollar bill sitting there.  I looked around and saw no one so I picked it up.  It wasn’t mine to keep so I put it into the collection basket at church for the community to enjoy.

I guess my good deeds are returning back to me.  Whatever it is, I am grateful for all the good things that has come into my life.  I intend to give back what has been given and repeat the cycle.  What good has come into your life and how are you giving back the love?
