I’ve been dining at McDonald’s for the past few weeks. It’s time to say goodbye to large meals at McDonald’s. Surprisingly, I didn’t gain weight. It kind of tells you about my diet at home. Tuesday was the last day to eat a full meal there. I’m not totally abandoning the place. I just need to cut the calories and price down to a healthier level.
I ordered a large Big Mac Value meal for lunch. The meal consists one Big Mac, a large fries, and a 32oz Coke. I know there are healthier options but I’m Lovin’ It! My body probably doesn’t. Neither does my wallet.
This meal costs up to $6.00 in the Chicago area and has a total of 1550 calories! In order to lower my caloric intake for my meal, I can choose a McDouble (a double hambuger with cheese) off the dollar menu and a regular (16oz) drink. They’re both satisfying for me. To save more calories on my drink, I can cut my Coke Classic with Diet Coke or Coke Zero. My meal now costs around $3.00 with this these modifications and contain 440 calories.
It’s the best place for me to get work done that isn’t the library and have it cost very little. I usually spend an hour at McDonald’s writing in my journal or review notes from school. It’s busy enough to force me to focus on work but quiet enough to let me work.
I cut my calories and spending here, where else can I cut calories and spending? Where else can I get work done? Eventually, I can say goodbye to McDonald’s for good.

Or you can cut it down to 200 calories by having a salad with romaine lettuce, carrots, cherry tomatoes, a table spoon of vinaigrette, and a glass of crystal light. When bought for the week, it’s less than $2.50 for the meal and just as satisfying.
i don’t think McNasty would let me bring in my own salad. Where can I eat that salad? If I stay at home, I’ll never get work done.
