It rained. It poured. I ran. I braved the elements to finish complete my long day despite the flooding occurring in my area. After my experience yesterday, I am looking into buying some gear to protect me from downpours and wind. I’ve been finding a way keep up with my marathon training.
Working and going to school is eating up a chunk of my time. I’ve found a few ways to help me with training for next year. I may be ditching the car part time and commute by bike for cross training and to protect my knees. There are a few new time management skills I am developing. I’ve become more efficient and effective with my time. It is giving me time to do much more than I have ever done. I hope I can keep this pace up.
I’m not sure what to buy for rain gear. I know I need something that is breathable, waterproof (or super water resistent), and keeps me cool. I went to REI’s website and there are a ton of options. I’m a bit overwhelmed by it. I’ll probably stop buy my local REI to find out what they recommend.
Next week is the apex of training and I will be tapering off afterwards. I have to run twenty miles. It’s the longest and farthest I’ve ever ran. Twenty miles is pretty intimidating. That is running from Maine East High School to REI Schaumburg. Wish me luck!
