Simplifying, Decluttering, to Raising Money for Charity

Alchemist Garage BeforeI’m spending the next two weeks decluttering and simplifying my life. The clutter is driving me mad! My mom had decided to clean out her garage. The items letting go of is being sold (on Craig’s List and eBay), donated (to Goodwill and the Salvaton Army), or recycled (Nike Re-Use a Shoe). Ten percent (10%) of any money I make off these items will be going to the American Cancer Society and The Children’s Memorial Marathon Team. Here’s the first batch of items I’ve put on Craig’s List.

I’ve put a few big ticket items on Craig’s List to boost my bank account and pad my donation dollars:

  1. Pioneer DEH-P77DHPioneer DEH-P77DH Car CD Receiver- It retails for $335.00. Crutchfield’s selling it for $249.99. I listed it on Craig’s List for $200.00. It’s satelite radio and iPod compatible with the proper accessories and can fit . It had never been used and in mint condition.
  2. Crutchfield’s page for the Pioneer DEH-P77DH

  3. Pioneer TS-G4640RPioneer TS-G4640R- These are a pair of G-Series 4×6 speakers originally intended to be installed in my dad’s van. It never happened so I’m selling them new in its original box for $30.

  4. Bridgestone Fuzion ZRiSet of 4 Bridgestone Fuzion ZRi tires (size 195/50R15 82W) with wheels- The tires themselves cost over $200.00 brand new. I’m selling the wheels and tires as a set for $125.00! They have great tread left. These tires are from my Honda Civic so the bolt pattern is 100 x 4.

If you are not interested in purchasing these items I have for sale, you can still sponsor me for the Chicago Marathon and donate to the American Cancer Society or Children’s Memorial Hospital by clicking the Children’s Memorial Hospital and American Cancer Society links on my home page.

The mess and the excess created white-noise that drowned out what I needed to hear, do, and focus on. I’ve eliminated distractions and excess by simplifying and decluttering my life. I was lost in the clutter and now I’m found. Well, I’m almost found. There’s a lot of things to get rid of. Once I’ve purged my life of things that I don’t use, I need to resist purchasing items unless I need it or there’s a great overwhelming important benefit I’m receiving I will have space physically, mentally, and spiritually to fully experience life and be aware of the ‘now.’

Ironically, at the same time, I’m looking to buy more and mannequins to model the clothing and gear I’m purchasing. Come by during the week to sort that garage with me and good luck cleaning!
