No audition tape is necassary. January first resolutions are not required. The time to change is now. Getting to a healthy weight is a long journey that many people struggle with. I’ve struggle with it in the past but I realized how the journey is easy when I decided that it will be. I realized how easy it can be after hiking with my brothers on North Manitou Island. I lost four pounds in two days.
The challenge is to be decisive and take action now. Take pro-active action now. Weight loss is a simple of process on the surface but it runs much deeper. Although it is easy, it takes time, patience, commitment, and effort get to where we want to be. Everyone’s weight loss journey is different. We suffer from different vices, emotions, and environments. We will have our ups and downs. We must explore what caused our excess weight and gather the resources to accomplish our goals. We must know why we want to lose the weight and remind ourselves all the time. We must be proactive by preparing and taking action. We will fine tune things as the ball gets going. My goal is to lose forty pounds by my next birthday (29 April 2008). I understand that I will have my up and downs during this process. As you follow my journey, you will see me fall. You will see me fail. I will get up, dust myself off, and continue on.The first step is to be proactive by walking and build from there. This simple action create motivation and more action to do more. Thirty minutes of walking immediately improves your overall health. On days I do not have the motivation to run, I walk. The walking becomes becomes running.
Commit to walking at least thirty minutes each day this week and read the next step to losing weight, understanding yourself.
